Riding Through Barriers Society
Riding Through Barriers Society is a not for profit society registered in the province of Alberta. Originally established by a group community members interested in making riding lessons more affordable in their community. The power of equestrian and ranch experiences went beyond expectations. The unpredictable depth and value of these experiences has moved the group to broaden its mandate beyond the lesson subsidy. Riding Through Barriers Society works to provide accessible equestrian activities, hands on ranch life experiences as well as Equine Assisted Learning to the community at large. They work to build meaningful relationships and a sense of community to all who participate.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart Jumpstart is more than just about getting kids active. It’s about giving kids from families in financial need the same chance to participate as their neighbors, their classmates and their friends. Whether it’s the chance to try a new sport or to continue with a favorite one, no kid should be left out. The vision of Jumpstart is simple: Canada, where all kids have a chance to fulfill their dreams. Jumpstart is a national charity with a commitment to local communities. Organized sports connect kids to their communities. Canadian Tire Corporation recognized this and makes sure that money raised stays where it is donated. Canadian Tire Corporation is Jumpstart’s biggest supporter as it funds all the general administrative expenses of Jumpstart, which means 100% of customer donations go directly to help kids in need.

You must wear long pants (Jeans, Leggings, Breeches) and some kind of boots with a heel. Even rubber boots will work! Anyone under the age of 18 is required to wear a helmet. Although we strongly encourage everyone to wear one. Depending on the season we encourage you to wear something that will keep you warm but you can also still move freely.

No, you don’t need your own horse. You can ride one of our amazing lesson horses.
Can I come more than once a week?
Of course you can!
How long is each lesson?
Lessons are roughly one hour long.
Do we do adult lessons?
Yes! Most of our adult lessons run later in the evening, we have an amazing group of adults who take lessons with us.
I have never ridden before, does that matter?
We love beginner riders, you do not need any experience to get you started.
Are we indoor or outdoor?
We have an indoor arena in the winter that keeps us out of the elements and in the summer there are multiple places to ride outside.
English or Western?
Our barn is mostly english but Roy can teach western & roping lessons also.
