Ground Roping Clinic - $150
February 21 - 10am to 4pm 

 

Master the Basics in 5 Easy Steps. This Ground Roping Clinic is designed for beginners who want to learn the proper mechanics of throwing a rope starting from the ground before taking it to the saddle.

​

Participants will be guided through 5 easy-to-learn steps that break down the fundamentals of roping in a way that’s simple, effective, and confidence-building.

 

We’ll focus on correct body position, rope handling, swing mechanics, timing, and follow-through, helping participants build strong habits from the start.

​

What you’ll learn:

  • Correct stance and body alignment

  • Swing mechanics and rhythm

  • Timing your throw

  • Clean release and follow through

 

Ground work is the foundation of successful roping, and this clinic gives participants the tools they need to progress safely and confidently, whether their goal is ranch work, rodeo events, or just building solid horsemanship skills.

Obstacle Clinic - $300
March 7 & 8 - 10:00am to 4:00pm 

 

Join us for a two-day Obstacle Clinic designed to help riders and horses build confidence, communication, and trust while navigating real-world challenges.

​

This clinic will focus on safely and correctly working through a variety of obstacles, teaching riders how to use clear cues, proper positioning, and calm energy to support their horse.

 

Riders will learn how to approach, break down, and complete obstacles step-by-step, whether they are new to obstacle work or looking to refine their skills.

​

Clinic highlights include:

  • Understanding how horses think and react to obstacles

  • Building confidence and focus in both horse and rider

  • Correct use of body position, reins, and leg aids

  • Problem-solving techniques for hesitant or unsure horses

  • Progressing obstacles at a pace that suits each horse

 

Obstacle work improves balance, responsiveness, and partnership, skills that carry over into every riding discipline.

 

All levels welcome. Safe, supportive, and confidence-building environment.

Jockey Clinic - $400
April 9 to 12 - Thursday 5pm to 8pm, Friday to Sunday 10am to 4pm

This four-day Jockey Clinic is designed for riders who want to learn the fundamentals of race riding in a safe, structured environment.

 

The clinic focuses on building strong foundations while emphasizing safety, horsemanship, and confidence—both on and off the horse.

 

The clinic begins on the Thursday evening at 5:00 PM, with progressive learning over the four days to allow riders to build skills step-by-step.

​

Suitable for developing riders interested in learning what it takes to become a jockey.

​

Flying Cross Ranch Schooling Show - September 5 

​

Join us on September 5 for the Flying Cross Ranch Schooling Show, a fun, supportive, and low-pressure show designed for riders of all ages and skill levels.

​

This schooling show is the perfect opportunity to show off the skills you’ve been working on at Flying Cross Ranch while gaining valuable show experience in a positive environment.

​

Classes offered include:

  • Equitation Classes – showcase rider position, balance, and control

  • Jumping Classes – test accuracy, rhythm, and confidence over fences

  • Obstacle Classes – demonstrate partnership, problem-solving, and trust

 

Entry Fees:

  • $20 per class

  • $45 per division (3 classes per division)

 

Riders may enter individual classes or compete in a full division.

Each class and division will award ribbons and prizes, celebrating effort, progress, and horsemanship.

 

This show is open to every rider—no matter their age or experience level. Whether it’s your first show or you’re building toward bigger goals, this is a great way to learn, grow, and have fun.
