No-Stirrups Walk

How:

  • Walk without stirrups

  • Short intervals (½ lap)

Builds:

  • Independent seat

  • Core balance

Riding Connection:
Improves overall balance and leg stability.

 
Two-Point at Walk

How:

  • Rise slightly out of saddle

  • Hold for 5–20 seconds

Builds:

  • Core + leg strength

  • Balance over feet

Direct prep for trot and jumping.

 
Arms Out at Walk

How:

  • Walk with arms stretched out

  • Maintain straight posture

Builds:

  • Balance without relying on reins

Riding Connection:
Creates independent hands.

 
Eyes Closed Walk (Advanced & Supervised)

How:

  • Close eyes for 5–10 seconds at walk

Builds:

  • Feel and body awareness

Riding Connection:
Helps riders feel rhythm instead of watching it.

How:

  • Walk–halt–walk transitions

  • Focus on staying tall

  • Core engagement
